Small shop, outsized capabilities.

Mark is a Mechanical Engineer with lots of experience designing and building systems for industry, aerospace, and beyond. Although CAD design and modeling are his primary service, he is also a machinist, fabricator, welder, and mechanic (among other things). This hybridization of engineering and hands-on skills results in a rare fusion of analytical and intuitive understanding of customer needs.

Design and CAD

Have an idea for a project, but not sure how to make it work? I'm your guy. Using CAD modeling software, I can help take your idea from napkin sketches to a fully rendered 3D model so that you can show investors or potential customers exactly what you are going to build. Anything from individual parts to complex assemblies; I can help you make your concept a reality.

Talk to me face to face locally, or remotely. If you're out of my area we can even use 3D printed plastic models to check fit-and-feel before going ahead with the final manufactured parts.

Reverse engineering of obsolete parts

Have an old machine with a broken part that needs to be made? Let me guess: the local machine shop won't touch it without a model? Send over the part, and it comes back with a CAD model and drawings that you can take to any machine shop. Or ask for a quote to have small batches made right here in-house.

Specialty fabrication jobs: aluminum and stainless

Short runs and one-offs in aluminum and stainless: TIG welded, riveted, and finished to be looked at as well as used. Signs, frames, brackets, housings.

Six cloud signs for a gallery in New Mexico, and an aluminum roof frame for a vintage tractor, are two recent ones.

You'll speak directly with the engineer who is actually working on your project, the same day, in plain English. No salesmen, no clueless managers, no language barrier, no bureaucracy, no delays.

Mechanical Superiority operates at small scale. That means your call won't get forwarded to several different departments until you land in the right place: the person picking up the phone will speak intelligently to your problem right away.

Tell me what you're trying to build

A drawing, a model, or even just a napkin sketch: I can help you to refine your idea and make it a reality. If you're not sure about the finer particulars (like tolerances or materials selection), that's totally fine. With my experience, we can help nail the details so that the design turns out right the first time.
